President's Message

Greetings IPMA-HR CT Chapter Members,

This past April, the Connecticut Chapter was well-represented at the IPMA-HR Eastern Region annual conference held in Newport, RI. One of the key takeaways of the conference was the Eastern Region’s mission this year which is “All About The Chapter.” With that in mind, the IPMA-HR CT Executive Board will follow suit by continuing to provide our chapter members with the professional development, support and guidance necessary for you to perform at your peak!  But we need something in return—YOU!  Our chapter thrives on the membership and involvement of our HR colleagues throughout the state.

This year we want to challenge our members to grow your career, fuel your passion and really Connect! with your local chapter to fully reap the benefits of your membership.  The IPMA-HR CT Executive Board recently held its first meeting and we have some exciting ideas and initiatives underway and there are plenty of opportunities for chapter members to volunteer to take part in planning and implementing your programs and events.

If you have a passion, gift or interest in volunteering on one of the following committees, please send an e-mail to the respective committee(s) to join us in planning your chapter year. Also, please indicate in your e-mail, your first and second committee choice if your first preference is not available.  Here’s how to Connect!

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE (6 opportunities available)

The membership committee assists with the membership drive which takes place from July 1 – October 1, during which time the committee will call members to remind them that it is time to renew their membership.  The membership committee plans welcoming activities to recognize new chapter members and reaches out to members to encourage them to attend upcoming programs.  The committee also organizes member appreciation events and strategizes for ways to grow the membership. The Membership Committee will nominate a Chairperson who will coordinate activities and provide a brief activity report on the first of every month to the IPMA-HR CT Executive Board.
